Sonatrach operates about 43 oil and gas pipelines, including 14,000 kilometers of fiber optic cables, and traditional manual inspection is costly and inefficient, making it difficult to grasp the operation of pipelines in real time 7 x 24 h. With more than 30 years of optical technology accumulation, Huawei has innovatively created the Huawei Pipeline Fiber Early Warning Solution based on distributed fiber optic sensing technology, which can realize 7x24-hour high-precision automatic inspection and early warning through the optical sensing device Huawei OptiXsense EF3000.

Sonatrach joins hands with Huawei to carry out intelligent oil and gas pipeline inspection solution innovation, and creates intelligent oil and gas pipeline inspection solution practice based on the business management process of the existing network through Huawei's pipeline fiber-optic early warning solution. When external construction occurs around the pipeline, the accompanying optical fiber deployed along the pipeline collects vibration information and transmits it to the optical sensing equipment deployed in the plant station or valve room room to achieve accurate positioning.

The joint innovation practice shows that the fiber optic warning solution performs well in pipeline inspection scenarios:

1. For the fiber optic interruption, manual excavation, mechanical excavation of different event analysis, the program can 100% differentiate between event types and support on-site processing;

2. The alarm accuracy is high, the false alarm rate is only 0.012 times/km/day, all the alarms within 2 meters from the fiber can be reported;

3. Strong positioning ability, alarm average positioning average error is less than 10 meters, fiber optic cable map GIS location information is accurate.
