Uber announced that it is about to test a new rate policy in ten US cities. Uber will increase the fare of rides close to city centres by 5% and decrease trips from outer areas by 10%. The new policy aims to shift rides outside of urban areas, to neighborhoods that have fewer transportation options. The measure will affect driver earnings as well.
