Uber has reported on its Twitter account that it is responding to a cybersecurity incident and is contacting law enforcement authorities. According to the investigation, the hacker pretended to work in the IT department and requested employees' passwords, before accessing email and cloud accounts, code repositories, internal Slack accounts, and HackerOne tickets. Staff security engineer Sam Curry reported that secret bug reports may have been compromised.
