The Informing Consumers about Smart Devices Act was introduced in the US House of Representatives. According to the bill, manufacturers of IoT devices equipped with a camera or microphone must disclose to consumers that a camera or microphone is part of the device. The bill does not apply to devices that a consumer reasonably expects to include a camera or microphone (e.g., computers or cellphones).
