Telecom operators, namely, MTN, Vodacom, Cell C, Telkom, have been awarded a contract to provide telecom services to the government of South Africa. The agreement came into effect on1 April and is expected to expire by 31 March 2026. As part of this initiative, the operators are expected to provide voice, data, and SMS services across governmental government departments and agencies. Moreover, they will also provide devices, mostly from local manufacturers, as well as power units, charging cables, bluetooth devices and earphones.
