Russian lawmakers are drafting legislation to punish those who spread fake news about the Ukraine conflict with up to 15 years in prison. The law intends to punish anyone who knowingly falsified information about the Russian Armed Forces' goals and tasks. Vasily Piskarev, head of the Duma's Security and Anti-Corruption Committee, suggested that anyone who distributes allegedly false information about Russia's military casualties might face penalties.
