The University of Tokyo, the Keio University, IBM, Toshiba, Hitachi, Toyota and a few other Japanese companies have launched a Quantum Innovation Initiative Consortium, aimed to accelerate quantum computing research and development in Japan. The consortium will facilitate collaboration between universities and the industry, with the goal of improving students' skills and expertise in quantum computing. It will also foster new quantum business opportunities and develop technology for quantum computing in Japan.
