Poland has become the first country to introduce a dedicated e-learning tool, developed by Microsoft and UNICEF, designed specifically for teachers who work with refugee children. The Learning Passport was introduced in 2018 and is currently available in 32 countries. The program aims to provide children and young individuals, particularly those living in displaced or crisis-affected communities, access to high-quality inclusive education. The Learning Passport will be implemented in Poland by the UNICEF Office for Refugee Response in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science and the SOK Foundation. It helps children and young people to gain the skills they need for the future.

Francesco Calcagno, Head of Education at UNICEF Office and Refugee Response in Poland, emphasized that teachers must enhance their multicultural communication abilities, create an inclusive classroom environment, identify and respond to challenging emotions, and identify situations requiring specialized interventions.

The UNICEF digital learning design professionals and trainers created the Learning Passport portal, which offers innovative teaching approaches and is available in Polish, Ukrainian, and English. It is linked to the Integrated Education Platform (ZEP), offering users limitless e-learning space, free content, and transparency and functionality. The initiative intends to involve displaced and crisis-affected communities, and provide assistance and educational possibilities for thousands of children. The platform will be updated and altered regularly to fulfill the demands of instructors, students, and young people.
