Qatari telco company Ooredoo, GSMA, and Facebook have launcheda literacy campaign to enhance digital literacy in Myanmar. Ooredoo stores will provide access to 'Internet education materials' for first-time Internet users of Myanmar. According to the GSMA report, around 21 million out of Myanmar's 54 million population is using mobile Internet where Facebook is dominating the perception of the Internet seen as the only access point. 'The GSMA is committed to advancing the cause of connectivity in rural areas as it works to accelerate progress against the UN's Sustainable Development Goals." said GSMA Head of Connected Society and Connected Women, Claire Sibthorpe.
