The Nigerian minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr Bosun Tijani, and other important stakeholders will brainstorm ways to tackle the challenges of telecoms infrastructure affecting the growth of West Africa's digital economy. Industry stakeholders and the minister will converge at the maiden edition of the West Africa Telecoms Infrastructure Summit and Exhibition (WATISE) in Lagos.

Discussions at the event will thoroughly examine crucial digital transformation trends and developments in the telecom infrastructure sector, covering areas like submarine cables, connectivity, security, data centre landscape, internet exchange, and wholesale digital transformation.

Isaiah Erhiawarien, the Country Editor of TechnologyMirror, explained in a press statement that this sub-regional forum, WATISE 2023, will facilitate the creation of strategic alliances and partnerships among local and foreign investors. Their aim is to expand ICT networks in Nigeria and West Africa. The event is expected to serve as a platform for organisations to showcase innovative products and solutions, bringing together ICT stakeholders, government officials, and foreign missions to shape the future of Africa's digital economy.

Erhiawarien emphasised that WATISE 2023 is an exclusive gathering for wholesale telecom operators and service providers, providing them with opportunities to connect with over 300 industry players, engage in knowledge-sharing panel sessions, and foster partnerships in a private and collaborative environment.
