According to DataGuidance, the United Arab Emirates ('UAE') has announced that it will publish a new Federal Data Law as one of the first projects of its Projects of the 50 initiative, to boost the economic competitiveness of UAE. The National News reports that this federal law intends to protect individuals' privacy while aiming for the lowest cost of compliance for Small and Medium enterprises (SMEs).
