Microsoft announced its latest decisions aimed at doing 'more to work with governments in a supportive and collaborative way'. The governmental affairs teams grew last week with two senior appointments. Ambassador Casper Klynge, a former Danish diplomat is set to lead the European governmental affairs team in Brussels with the focus on making Microsoft 'a constructive partner in supporting policymakers in Brussels and European capitals'. John Frank, former vice president of the European team will establish Microsoft's new UN representation office in New York, USA. The new office will support the work of the UN in advancing global multistakeholder action on key technology, environmental, humanitarian, developmental, security and the UN sustainable development goals (SDGs). The two appointees stressed that Microsoft considers the multistakeholder model crucial for achieving global solutions for better societal responsibility of the technology industry.
