According to a news report, the Taliban government has shut down the internet in parts of Kabul, Afghanistan's capital with the aim of curbing further mobilization efforts by protestors. The order to cut the internet, according to the report, was made by the Taliban intelligence following an earlier massive demonstration in the city of Kabul on Tuesday 7 September 2021. Activists chanted slogans in support of resistance fighters in the holdout province of Panjshir and in favour of the leader of the National Resistance Front (NRF), Ahmad Masoud, who is a leading opposition to the Taliban.
