This article explains how to switch between profiles on an Amazon Fire tablet.We'll also look at how to create a new profile for a child and an adult.
Selecting a different user profile on an Fire tablet is simple.Here's how to do it in just a few steps; the process is very similar no matter which model you own:
From the top of the screen, drag two fingers down until the Quick Settingsmenu appears.
Tap theprofileicon on the bottom of the menu.
Tap one of the profiles to switch to it.
You can have two adult profiles set up on an Amazon Fire tablet. Your account is already configured, so here's how to add another one:
Tap theSettingsapp to open it, then chooseProfiles & Family Library.
TapAdd a second Adult Profile.
Sign in to your Amazon account and then tapContinue.
The Amazon Household screen will appear. You're asked if you have an Amazon account for this profile or if you need to make a new one.Tapthe choice that suits you, then selectContinue.
After logging in to the new account, there will be two adult profiles to choose from.
To display the new profile on the lock screen, tap the user and enable the toggle next toShow profile on lock screen.
A child account lets kids access safe content, and you can set up time limits if you wish. Here's how to add your child to an Amazon Fire tablet:

Tap Add a Child Profile. If there is no password on your device, you will be prompted to create one now.
Choose a name and birthdate for the child's profile, then tapAdd Profile.
You might be asked to start an Amazon Kids+ trial. Feel free to skip it by tappingUse Amazon Kids with your own content.
After your child is done with their profile, it is easy to switch back to an adult profile using the same Quick Settings panel from which you switched users.
Drag open Quick Settings from the top of the screen.
Tap theprofile icon.
Tap one of the adult profiles.
Enter the PIN to exit the child profile.
A bug in some Fire devices can cause profiles to go missing. Remove the device from your Amazon account, then re-register it. If you're still having trouble, reach out to Amazon support.
From the Quick Settings menu, tap theprofileicon, thenMore Settings. Select the profile and then go toManage Amazon Kids>Manage Child Profile>Remove Child Profile.
Anyone who uses the device can access all downloaded apps, but they may have to create their own separate account for the app. From the Profile settings, you can restrict access to apps for Child profiles.
To have Alexa recognize your voice, enable Alexa through theSettings app. TapAlexa, toggle the feature on, and then chooseHands-Free Modeto let Alexa listen without you having to press the Home button.
