Greece's Supreme Court Public Prosecutor, Isidoros Dogiakos, has ordered an investigation into a cyber-attack on the data bank that provides school exam questions. The attack disrupted end-of-high-school exams, causing delays and exam cancelations. The Ministries of Education and Religious Affairs, and Digital Governance released a statement confirming that the attack was a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack aimed to disrupt a system's traffic and bring it down. According to the statement, the attack on the exam bank platform received 165 million hits from 114 countries, making it the most significant attack on a Greek public body. However, it is clarified that the attack did not breach the system or gain access to its components and data. The Prime Minister's press office acknowledged the power and technical expertise behind the attacks but stated that they were successfully defeated. This incident is not the first time hackers have targeted Greek public bodies, as similar attacks have occurred on Greek Post's computer systems and two hospitals in Athens.
