The European Union has sent a confidential letter to G20 asking the International Organisation to work hard in 2020 so as to reach a common tariff rule to tax the tech companies like Google, Facebook, Amazon et Twitter. In the letter, European Union stresses the need to give the highest priorityto finding global solutions to address the taxation of the digital economy. European Union also stresses its desire and ambition to go for a fair, effective, non-discriminatory and workable global solution towards a consensus-based solution to deliver digital tax in 2020.
Central bank governors as well as finance ministers of the 20 biggest economies of the world will meet in Riyadh on 22 to 23 February to talk about work on digital tax rules by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
