EU has reached a political agreement on the use of the 700 MHz frequency band

The European Parliament, the Council and the Commission have reached a political agreement on the use of the 700 MHz band, crucial in the deployment of 5G technology. As the European Commission reports, the 700 MHz band should be assigned to mobile operators and made available for use in all EU Member states by 30 June 2020 at the latest. This process follows the expected milestones of the 5G standardization process within the ITU (International Telecommunication Union).
