Cisco is proud to announce that Bill Davenport will serve as a Senior Director of Government Affairs in our Washington, DC office. Bill will accelerate our communications and technology policy engagements with U.S. and international government entities. In this position, he will also place a global emphasis on the importance of releasing spectrum in the 6 GHz band to alleviate wireless spectrum congestion and to enable an entirely new generation of advanced technologies, such as Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7.

Throughout Bill's career, he has been an excellent advocate for policies that power innovation, bolster connectivity, and enable individuals to learn, access health care, and interact with government services in a digital future. During this unprecedented time of increased investment in broadband service and connected devices, his profound experience and policy expertise are a tremendous addition to Cisco.

"Government policy must evolve to reflect the essential nature and capabilities
of advanced broadband services, whether that service is 5G (fixed or mobile),
cable, fiber, or satellite. Cisco's purpose is to power an inclusive future for all,
and I'm looking forward to advocating for solutions that both encourage
innovation and connect everyone."
