According to the Guardian,  the office of the Australian information commissioner (OAIC) is yet to deliver findings on the Cambridge Analytica privacy scandal or seek fines against Facebook more than 18 months after its investigation began. The Australia's data protection authority leads an investigation into how Cambridge Analytica gained unauthorised access to the profiles and data of 87 million Facebook users, including 300,000 in Australia. The level of administrative resources of the authority has been the subject of concerns over the years, as estimates indicated that it would need about 100 additional staff to properly fulfil its duties. The agency' spokesperson recently announced that the investigation was still ongoing, but could be completed by the end of this year.
