Zambia has launched the National Child Online Protection Strategy to protect children online from abuse and cyber-bullying, following a rise in the abuse of children online. The strategy is expected to implement programmes to address the risks faced by children online, educate children on safe Internet use and provide practical tools to encourage all stakeholders to keep children safe online.
Speaking at the launch of the strategy, the Minister of Transport and Communication Mutotwe Kafwaya, added that as children are vulnerable online '..the government has decided to address the vulnerabilities faced by children online. Our children's best interest is the primary consideration of the government,'.
