The WHO Academy's mobile learning, developed by the WHO to provide lifelong learning opportunities to healthcare workers, has launched its first augmented reality (AR) course. The first AR course is on the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and available on the WHO Academy's mobile learning app. Understanding the proper techniques and sequence to put on and remove PPE is critical to reduce the chance of being infected by COVID-19 while they care for patients. The course was designed based on a global survey that found two-thirds of the 22 000 healthcare workers surveyed feel they need to be more prepared for COVID-19, particularly in infection prevention and control, use of PPE, occupational safety, and more.
