US organisations receive $25M to bridge digital skills gap

Comcast, the US' largest multinational telecommunications and media conglomerate, announced that as part of its ongoing Project UP project, which targets the digital divide, it had dedicated 25 million USD to two hundred plus organisations to support their work in building digital skills and job training in the country.

Those to benefit the most from the funding are youths in and out of school and adults searching for upskilling opportunities, particularly those in disadvantaged situations. This funding will support programmes and partnerships implemented nationwide in 2023. 

Project UP is a wide-ranging effort aimed at promoting digital equity. With a pledged investment of$1 billion and the goal of reaching tens of millions of individuals, Project UP comprises various programs and collaborations with communities across Comcast, NBCUniversal, and Sky. These efforts aim to provide internet access, enhance economic mobility, and create opportunities for future innovators, entrepreneurs, storytellers, and creators.
