Carolyn Maloney, chair of the House Oversight and Reform Committee, asked the FBI to investigate Parler's role as a facilitator in planning and inciting the Capitol attack. Maloney referred to several detailed violent threats on Parler against elected officials, including a user's promise to return to the Capitol on inauguration day 'carrying weapons and massing in numbers so large that no army could match them'.
