The White House firmly rebutted Russian allegations of US meddling in Russia's presidential election, dismissing them as categorically false and propaganda.

Previously, the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) levied accusations against the USA, claiming attempts to disrupt Russia's forthcoming presidential election, including purported plans for a cyberattack targeting the online voting infrastructure.

The White House emphasised that the US has no intention to meddle in Russia's electoral processes. A White House National Security Council spokesperson pointed out Russia's own history of interfering in democratic elections, noting that 'Rather than projecting falsehoods, it is Russia that should cease these activities.'

The USA has previously found that Russia meddled in US elections in 2016 and 2020, which Russia refutes.

This exchange underscores the ongoing tension between the two nations regarding electoral interference, especially in light of the upcoming elections in both countries.
