Twitter has updated its privacy policies, after announcing that the users' control over what information Twitter shares with its business partners has changed. According to the Verge, Twitter has removed a setting which could prevent Twitter from sharing information on ads interaction and the tracking identifier of users' phones. This information will now be shared by default, with no opt-out, for all users, except in the EU, the European Free Trade Association, and the UK. The USA-based Electronic Frontiers Foundation (EFF) argues this change highlights the need for strong privacy laws outside Europe.
