Supporting Local Communities Through the Fortinet Championship

Sep, 05, 2023 Hi-network.com

Later this month, Fortinet will host its third annual Security Summit at the Fortinet Championship, bringing together top golf and technology talent for a unique, multi-day event in Napa, California. One of the most rewarding parts of the Fortinet Championship is the opportunity to invest in and give back to local organizations focused on critical initiatives and community engagement.

In honor of this year's International Day of Charity-established by the United Nations and recognized annually worldwide on September 5-we're excited to highlight the charitable organizations that have benefited from Fortinet Championship proceeds.

Supporting Organizations in the Napa Valley Community

Building on Fortinet's long-standing commitment to making the world a safer and more sustainable place, we will once again donate a portion of the proceeds from this year's Fortinet Championship to benefit nonprofit organizations working in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), diversity and inclusion, reskilling, and more. Proceeds will also be donated to select nonprofit organizations based in the Napa Valley area, including:

  • Alaina's Voice Foundation, which inspires hope and kindness in communities through education, music, and mental health initiatives
  • Boys & Girls Clubs of Napa Valley, a nonprofit committed to enabling all young people to reach their full potential through after-school and summer programming that includes digital literacy essentials, STEM activities, fine arts, athletics, and more
  • Cameron Champ Foundation, an organization focused on transforming the lives of youth from underserved and underrepresented communities through athletics, academics, STEM, and more
  • Eat. Learn. Play., an organization dedicated to fighting childhood hunger, ensuring students have access to quality education, and providing safe places for children to play and be active
  • First Tee North Coast, which empowers children and teens through the game of golf
  • Jimmy John's Foundation, an organization dedicated to fostering independence and creating opportunities for youth
  • Keller Restaurant Relief Fund, which supports local servers, chefs, and others in hospitality as the industry continues to evolve post-pandemic
  • Napa Valley Vine Trail Coalition, a nonprofit committed to building a walking and biking trail system to connect the entire Napa Valley
  • Queen of the Valley Foundation, which is dedicated to providing world-class medical care in the Napa Valley community
  • Travis Air Force Base Reserves, also known as the 349th Air Mobility Wing, which is a group of citizen airmen who work alongside their active-duty counterparts in almost every air mobility mission and role

Charitable Efforts in Partnership with First Street Napa

Fortinet is also partnering with First Street Napa to host three days of golf-themed activities that benefit area charities and schools.

The "First Street Napa City and County Challenge" will take place Tuesday, September 12 from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Teams from city and county groups will compete for the best putt, most holes in one, and best score to receive prizes from specialty gift shop Bennington Napa Valley. The "$20,000 Putting Challenge for Napa Charity" is scheduled for Wednesday, September 13 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Teams from local charities will compete for top scores in qualifying rounds to advance as finalists at the putt-off at Silverado Resort on Saturday, September 16. Fortinet will also host the "$5,000 Putting Challenge for Napa Schools" at 5 p.m. the same day, allowing participants to compete and earn a$5,000 donation to the local school of their choice.
