A report by Wall Street Journal has found that internal studies conducted by Facebook had pointed out that Instagram has a significant negative impact on teenage girls. The report reveals that 32% of teenage girls shared that Instagram made them feel bad about their bodies.
However Instagram's head of public policy Karina Newton responding to the report has shared that rather than fixating over issues of body image focusses posts that can result in negative self comparison, the company is looking at options to steer users to other types of content.
In the light of the report US lawmakers are now demanding answers from Facebook, few senators have announced for a probe into Facebook with respect to the article and a group of Democrats have written to Mark Zuckerberg urging to abandon the Instagram kids version
