During a conference in New Delhi, India, Sam Altman, Chief Executive of OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, expressed his opposition to regulating smaller startups in the field of AI.
Altman reiterated the company's explicit position that there should be no regulation on smaller companies, with the regulation being only imposed on bigger companies and themselves. He made these remarks during an event hosted by the national daily Economic Times.
Altman is presently on a world tour, meeting heads of state of several countries. He is also meeting the EU leaders to discuss, amongst others, OpenAI's participation in a coalition consisting of companies from Europe and beyond working towards the voluntary AI pact.
