NordVPN, a popular VPN company, announced a data center breach, reported earlier by TechCrunch. According to CNET, an unauthorized user accessed a lone server in a Finland data center that NordVPN was renting from an unnamed provider, which did not disclose the breach. NordVPN indicated that no username or passwords were intercepted, and canceled its contract with the data center. According to Tech Radar, the hackers were able to identify an insecure remote management system that was operated by the datacenter provider and had full root access to a container server due to an expired TLS certificate.
