The State Attorney General of Illinois along with local and federal prosecutors announced the launch of new efforts to prevent child exploitation online. These include, greater outreach and education for parents and teachers and setting up a new mobile computer forensics. These new efforts will be coordinated through the state's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which is a federally funded project within the attorney general's office that includes state, federal and local law enforcement agencies.
On receiving tips of incidents related to child sexual exploitation from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the state's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigates these crimes, trains law enforcement agencies, and builds capacity on online safety among children.
