In Saudi Arabia, the strong growth in mobile users, smartphones, mobile video consumption and IoT connections are projected to significantly increase mobile data traffic over the next five years. At a global level, Cisco forecasts that 5G will account for 1.5 percent of total mobile data traffic by 2021, generating 4.7 times more traffic than the average 4G connection. Around 25 million 5G connections are expected to be in place by 2021, representing 0.2% of global mobile connections.

For the first time in the Middle East and Africa region, we will be helping Saudi Telecom Company (STC) to deploy Control and User Plane Separation (CUPS) as well as our virtualized Ultra Packet Core to ensure enhanced network throughput and flexibility.
