Kashmir techies create apps to circumvent slow Internet speeds

Nov, 13, 2023 Hi-network.com

According to a news report, two developers have successfully built two apps named Filo and Wise to help students in the Indian-administered Kashmir to overcome crippling Internet speeds following months of Internet shutdowns and restrictions in the region. According to the report, Mubeen Masudi and Imbesat Ahmad, graduates of the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, run an academy that prepares students for highly competitive engineering colleges entrance exams. After persistent struggles to impart education in the wake of prolonged internet shutdown by India last August after the Muslim-majority region was stripped of its special status, they were inspired to build the two apps that are able to support teaching and learning on low Internet speeds and eliminate buffering issues experienced on other learning apps.
