Israel has successfully launched the Amos-17 satellite which will provide internet, TV and mobile services to the Middle East and North Africa. The satellite was launched on Aug 6th from Cape Canaveral in Florida, USA and carried into space by a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. Over the next 20 years this$250 million project is expected to be operational and Spacecom's CEO, David Pollack, after the launch said "AMOS-17 places us directly into the exciting growth of Africa's Sub-Saharan vibrant markets".
