According to information from a press release, the internet service provider Frontier Communication has been sued by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in cooperation with law enforcement agencies from six states. The FTC alleged that Frontier failed to provide consumers with the internet speeds promised to them, thereby limiting quality access to the internet whilst charging expensive prices. In the charge statements, FTC and the attorneys general from Arizona, Indiana, Michigan, North Carolina, Wisconsin and California detailed that whereas Frontier advertised and sold internet plans based on several download speeds, its checks showed otherwise after several complaints from customers of Frontier. Frontier's action according to the charge violated the FTC Act as well as various state laws.
