According to Reuters, Lina Khan, the chair of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC), is considering writing rules to fight data privacy abuses, poor online security and the use of algorithms that may lead to discrimination. In a letter to a U.S. Senator, Khan stated that the FTC was "considering initiating a rulemaking" on online privacy and commercial surveillance.
