Facebook is developing a feed filter bar that will make it easier for users to choose what content appear in their news feed. The new feature will give the option for users to see the most recent posts from their friends and pages they follow or to rely on Facebook's algorithms to determine their news feeds' content.
Facebook already allows users to see their feed ranked by most recent posts, however this possibility is built deep in the app and is not easy to find. The new feed filter bar was announced by Facebook vice president of global affairs and communications Nick Clegg in a post titled 'you and the algorithm: it takes two to Tango'. The company is also planning to introduce more ways for users to understand why content is being displayed in their feedlines.
