The European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation (Eurocontrol) has confirmed that its website has been under cyberattack since 19 April. The organisation clarified that while the attack is causing interruptions to the website and web availability, there has been no impact on flights.
Pro-Russian hackers claimed responsibility for the attack on their Telegram channel.
Eurocontrol coordinates commercial air traffic between 41 states, including the EU and its national air traffic control agencies. Since the start of Moscow's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, pro-Russian hackers have claimed responsibility for several cyberattacks on institutions in Europe.
