Cisco Continues Mobile Core Momentum: Leads in Packet Core Market Share according to Infonetics Research Data.

Apr, 27, 2015 Hi-network.com

So Spring is finally here in the New England Area, the snow is finally gone after a record breaking snow fall totals, and the flowers are starting to sprout.

Last week, we announced that ACG Research again confirmed that Cisco continues to be the leading provider of Mobile Packet Core and Mobile IP Infrastructure over the past several quarters. Now another analyst firm, Infonetics Research highlighted that Cisco has indeed garnered the Packet Core Lead at 21.7% based on EPC / 3G Packet Core data in their report "Mobile Infrastructure Equipment"for Q4 2014.

So where is this customer momentum coming from you ask? Well last monthat MWC we had numerous customers willing to publically announce that they we are working closely together and launching new services on Cisco's platforms, a few examples were:

With customer examples of AT&T and their Connected Car Solution with Cisco Virtualized Packet Core (VPC) + Policy Suite + PRIME Network Management, Telefonica with their "LTE in a Box" with Cisco Premium Mobile Broadband (PMB), XL Axiata transforming their Mobile Service Delivery with Cisco VPC, Everything Everywhere with Cisco Small Cells, and so on.

So it has been a great few quarters for Cisco Mobility as we continue to build momentum in the Packet Core, as well as Cisco continues leadership roles in the Service Provider Wi-Fi and Small Cells, Voice over Wi-Fi (VoWiFi) with our Evolved Packet Data Gateway (ePDG), and growing quickly in Service Provider Policy Suite. So lot's of momentum continues to build thanks to the teams focus on quality and working with the customers on their mobile requirements.
