Jan, 02, 2024 Hi-network.com

China has released an implementation plan to facilitate common prosperity through a greater and better digital economy, according to sources from the national data bureau. The plan, jointly released by the bureau and the National Development and Reform Commission, aims to integrate digital technologies with the real economy and address unbalanced and inadequate development issues using digital means.

By 2025, the plan aims to make positive progress in closing the gaps between regions, urban and rural areas, and different population groups in essential public services through the development of the digital economy. It recognises that developing digital technologies can help reduce disparities and improve accessibility, ultimately enhancing the quality of life for all citizens.

By 2030, the plan seeks substantial progress in promoting shared prosperity through the digital economy. It envisions innovative collaboration practices between eastern and western regions that can be replicated and broadcast nationwide. This highlights the government's commitment to reducing the economic divide and ensuring that the benefits of the digital economy are accessible across the country.

Why does it matter?

The joint release of the implementation plan by the National Data Bureau and the National Development and Reform Commission indicates strong government support for this initiative. The objectives and goals outlined in the programme also align with the government's focus on achieving shared prosperity and reducing regional disparities.
