A center for financial service and insurance, Bermuda has appointed its first privacy commissioner. The privacy commissioner, Alexander White, will be tasked with implementing the Personal Information Protection Act, which was adopted three years ago, and in particular for setting up the Privacy Commissioner's Office, hiring and training staff, undertaking investigations, providing reports and developing public awareness.
