Australia's eSafety Commissioner Julie Inman Grant while welcoming the initiative of tech platforms to create a framework for child sexual abuse material announce during the WeProtect Global Alliance Summit in Brussels, questioned the will of tech platforms to address the issue.
She further warned tech platforms that the regulator will use the new legal powers to demand the companies provide details on what systems they are using to check if child sexual abuse is on their platforms and how long it has been online. Tech platforms need to be "full transparent" on how they are dealing with issue of child sexual abuse materail in their platforms, she added.
