The UK National Health Service (NHS) launched an online information governance portal that will serve as a one-stop shop for access to national information governance (IG) guidance for frontline healthcare staff, IG professionals, and the public. The portal aims to give staff the confidence they need to share data in a timely and appropriate manner by simplifying IG. The announcement noted that the portal also aims to dispel some pervasive myths about IG and change the culture in which IG is seen as an unbeatable barrier to data sharing. It explained that such a culture has arisen due to England's complex IG landscape and widespread confusion surrounding the rules on the use and sharing of data.
