Google's updated privacy policy allows web scraping for all AI tools

Jul, 06, 2023 Hi-network.com

Google has recently revised its privacy policy to include the collection and analysis of publicly shared information for the purpose of training its AI models. The updated policy enables Google to leverage public data to enhance its services, develop new products, and introduce beneficial features and technologies for users and the public. Data will be used to train Google's AI models and build products like Google Translate, Bard, and Cloud AI capabilities. However, the policy lacks clarification on how copyrighted materials will be excluded from the collected data.

This represents a significant change from Google's previous terms of service, which limited data usage to improving AI language models, as the updated policy grants Google the right to utilise user data to improve all AI models.
