BitTorrent Inc. to launch a live streaming TV platform

BitTorrent Inc., the company that has created the BitTorrent peer-to-peer file sharing protocol,has announced its plans to launch a live streaming TV platform, called BitTorrent Live. The multichannel platform, which will span news, sports, music, tech, and youth culture, is based on the company's peer-to-peer live streaming protocol. This is expected to solve the 'latency problem' common in HTTP live streaming, and 'allow for large audiences to view live video with sub 10-second latency'.
