Feminist activists in Iraq started a social media campaign in the last week of September to call for the Ministry of Education to issue a formal resolution that will forbid 'the imposition of the veil as a condition for academic enrollment'.
The online campaign, which emphasised the value of women's personal freedom, provided another illustration of how cyberfeminism is taking a dynamic shape in the Middle East and South Asian countries through the hashtag#No_for_forced_veiling on Iraqi social media networks.
