The World Bank has signed an agreement with the government of Bangladesh in order to improve digital connectivity. The project will finance the laying out of fiber-optic cables along highways which are expected to connect 20 million people in western Bangladesh. In the long run, access to reliable internet services is meant to allow farmers to reach new markets at a faster pace and at a lower cost.
