According to a report, US District Judge Theodore Chuang in Maryland issued a ruling that the in-person requirements for patients seeking the abortion pill 'mifepristone' places an obstacle to women and are likely unconstitutional given the state of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country. The ruling will allow healthcare providers to mail or deliver mifepristone to patients during the public health emergency. Abortion providers are reported to have switched the majority of their services to telehealth to protect the safety of patients. Chuang's ruling now allows many patients to not have to visit a clinic at all.
