Jan, 08, 2023 Hi-network.com

The United States House on January 8th passed three bipartisan bills related to the implementation of 5G onto the Senate almost unanimously. The bills are aimed at providing an edge to the U.S over China in the race for 5G networks which are pivotal for further IoT projects, self-driving cars and other future innovations. A key concern with the bills is sufficient security for 5G wireless networks and one of the bills directs the President to develop a strategy for securing next generation mobile communications in collaboration with the FCC, NTIA, Department of Homeland Security and Secretary of Defense. The resolutions require the U.S. to adhere to international cybersecurity standards as 5G capabilities are developed.
