Bites for All, Pakistan (B4A), a renowned digital rights organisation, presents its yearly internet Landscape Report 2022 titled 'Pakistan's internet Landscape Report 2022,' which examines the complex relationship between human rights and information and communication technology (ICT) in Pakistan. The research highlights authorities' efforts to regulate the internet, including lawsuits filed against journalists, activists, and political opponents for expressing disapproving opinions on social media.
The report captures and examines the dynamic digital environment and its impact on various aspects of Pakistani society. It aims to provide critical information for all segments of society and includes analysis and feedback from key stakeholders and experts in multiple fields that intersect with ICT.
Pakistan ranks as one of the least prosperous countries because, despite increased internet penetration, a significant fraction of the population remains without access or has limited access. In addition, there has been a considerable increase in female online harassment, blasphemy, online world campaigns, and the transmission of misinformation.
