Huawei revealed that it will collaborate with the Kenyan government to overcome the digital divide in the country by building advanced infrastructure. 'We will continue to work with governments and telecommunication companies to build more advanced infrastructure to bridge the digital divide. Huawei will also work with the ministry of information, communication, and technology (ICT) on the construction of the Konza Technopolis data center that aims at further digitizing Kenya's government operations,' said Huawei Kenya CEO Will Meng. Huawei will further partner with the ministry of tourism and mobile telecom firm Safaricom on a digital tourism project to promote international tourism in the country and consequently ameliorate the recovery of the sector.
